Who was Otto Benecke?
Otto Benecke was the pioneer of student self-administration in Germany and in 1919 was elected the first Chair of the German Student Body’s umbrella association. When the foundation developed out of the German Student Body’s former social welfare office, it took the name of Otto Benecke in his honour.
